A little project of mine that i have been working on for a while now! It's the perfect combination of Cruiser and Oldschool deck, ~ 9 cm long and 3,5cm wide and great fun when you want to chill with the big tricks and just flow through a park or pipe!

FastFinger13 results

On the 22nd of May the World Championships went down and once again the best fingerboarders battled it out to win the title! Prete Team riders Fabian Epe and Nico Frank where there, doing what they do best! 148 people took part and Nico managed to snatch 13th !!! place! What an effort, considering that every rider was sourrounded by ~300 spectators during their run! Fabian didnt slack either, placing a respectable 65th, which is not easily done either. He managed to get ahead of some top riders, and showed hes got sick tricks and a cool head when things get exciting :)!

Well done to both of you, hopefully next year the whole team will be there to rip it up with you :)! See the full result list at fingerboardTV

The riders list is finally completed! The preselected riders can be found on the list, everyone else will have to fight over the free spots wildcard style!

Peter and Dimitar arent attendin fast fingers this year, but Nico and Fabian can both be found on the riders list, so i want to wish those to good luck for saturday!!

The contest is going to be insane, so many good riders, so it will be exciting to see who will be crowned world champion of 2010 this year! Best wishes to all the riders :)!

Just a little experimentation with some stone.. Sanded down until it was only as thick as a layer of wooden veneer, 0.6, i used it on the nose and tail, to see how it will perform. update coming soon :)!

Battle at the Harrics

So the Battle at the Harrics ended with Dimitri Schlotthauer taking the win and going home with €1500 more in his pocket!

Dimitar, Nico and Peter also took part, but only Nico made it past round 1 and unfortunately was lined up against Dimitri in the 2nd. Nico held his own for quite some time, but the tournament winner took it in the end. Here is a video of what went down:

Battle at the Harrics

On the 20th of March 2010 the first Battle at the Harrics contest will take place!

Its a 's-k-a-t-e' style tournament with 60 of the best fingerboarders out there battling for the prizes worth €1500!

The results are finally here and 2 Prete Team members rode to glory indeed, reserving themselves spots right at the top!

Massice congratulations to Nico Frank, placing 1st (!!!) in street and 8th in Vert! What an achievement! Those prizes definitely reflect the skill and talent captured in those videos!

And right on his heels came Fabian Epe, another superb result, placing 6th in Street and 11th in Vert! Congratulations Fabi, just missing out on the prizes but placing in the top 10 within a jungle of hundreds of entries!!

Peter Ringel also placed within top 30 in street, 28th which is one of his top achievements in his Fingerboarding history!

The New Prete 'PTR' Shape - discontinued

After a few weeks of testing, I have come to the conclusion that the new 'PTR' shape does not match the all-round performance of the other Prete shapes. Even though it shows some improvement in certain areas, others lack too much to make the shape satisfactory for all customers.

Steering away from the common idea that the best performing fingerboard need to be identical to a skateboard shape, prete has developed the unique PTR mold.

The tail is very similar to the Prete kura street tail, featuring relatively low kicks and little dips. The nose is completely new: the concave gradually decreases from tail to nose and there is a clean, curved transition into the nose kick, no dips required. The nose is also slightly steeper than the tail, and feels like it 'wraps' around the finger, allowing more higher and more controlled nollie and switch ollies.

It does not looked like most modern fingerboards with its unusual shape, but brings with it benefits other decks are still lacking.

Taylor Rosenbauer received a well deserved first prize, his video was amazing!
As was Dimitar Kanev's, placing a respectable 17th with another mind blowing video full of amazing tricks!

As much as it hurts to say, I will have to inform that David Schneider has left the Prete team! He was a great team member, I hope he decides to rejoin at some point?! Always Welcome, keep on riding!

Well as you can see, the site had a little make over, basically colours, I got bored of the old ones.

Also, there is a new section, called "Your Prete", which basically is a kind of show me your Prete kinda thing! You can email me your Prete pictures and I will load them up on the site, as simple as that! Let everyone see your little treasure.

Also, for those who haven't seen them yet, i have been working on Decks with Metal bottom and middle ply's. Theyre still undergoing testing and I will make my decision wether to continue producing them by summer. Here is a picture of a prototype currently being tested:

Changing Worlds

After contemplating the future of 'Prete Decks' i have decided to move away from the USA scene and become more involved in the european scenes, especially Germany.
There are many new Fingerboard companies developing in the USA and I do not feel I am able to contribute to this progress, or the scene at all.

Since Prete has originally developed in Germany anyhow, i decided to make my decks more known there, rather than continuing to ship overseas.

Some good news:

Prete video still in process, riders are (hopefully ;-D) working on their parts as i speak, and the video should be an overall success.

Prete Decks will be producing Oldschool decks in the near future; prototype shapes are in progress and concave/kick hight will be based on the current Prete 'new mold' series.

Well i just bought some new equipment, so im back at making fingerboards. I found a good printing service, so some coloured graphics will appear on the decks fairly soon!

The video is on its way, every team member has received their new mold team decks, so filming is in process.

I also invested in some new mahagony veneer, so berlin wood(tm) style decks can be expected.

I decided it was about time i designed my own website in order to make quick changes when needed.
Christmas is coming up, which means i have 1 month of hollidays!
So in 2007, you may expect:
- A new shape!
-A new team memeber!
-A few decks for sale (?)
